$195,000 Settlement with Jackson/Hinds Library System

April 2022

In April 2022, Patricia Furr settled her case against the Jackson/Hinds Library System.  Ms. Furr alleged that she had been denied due process by not being given a due process hearing prior to being terminated pursuant to state law.  She also alleged that she was terminated because of her race (white) and her age as she is over 40 years old.  Ms. Furr was the director of the Jackson/Hinds Library System.  In exchange for releasing all claims Jackson/Hinds Library System agreed to pay Ms. Furr $195,000.
